What you’ll understand
The short version
Identify the pop first, then match its gesture. Each type tests a different skill: alignment, extraction angle, teasing, patience, or rhythm.
Whiteheads: learn the clean squeeze
Whiteheads appear from wave one and teach the game’s core two-sided squeeze. Press from both sides and move inward with an even, controlled motion. Alignment and speed both affect the result, but alignment is the first priority.
If the squeeze feels inconsistent, begin slightly farther from the center and make both sides meet at the same time. Whiteheads are the best place to practice clean technique and build an early flow multiplier.
Blackheads: control the extraction angle
Blackheads enter the patient pool from wave three. Instead of squeezing toward the center, drag outward to extract the plug. They pay more than a basic whitehead, which makes a clean extraction valuable during tight rent cycles.
The common mistake is pulling too quickly at a poor angle. Start with deliberate motion, watch how the plug responds, and only increase speed once the direction feels natural.
Ingrown hairs: tease, reveal, then pluck
Ingrown hairs arrive from wave four and use a two-part interaction. First tease the hair laterally to expose it. Once it is free, finish with an outward pluck. Trying to skip the reveal phase usually wastes movement and breaks the rhythm of the treatment.
The simulated hair moves as a chain rather than a rigid sprite, so small adjustments are more useful than one oversized swipe. Think finesse first, force second.
Cysts: drain in stages
Cysts unlock from wave five and reward patience with a larger payout. They extend beneath the surface, drain through multiple layers, and can reseal between pushes. Rushing is the fastest route to a bleed penalty.
Use measured pressure and pay attention to the treatment state. A cyst is not a bigger whitehead; it is a longer procedure that asks you to maintain clean technique over several steps.
The Deep One: follow the rhythm
Every fifth wave introduces the Deep One, a boss encounter built around rhythmic draining. Normal habits can work against you here. The safest approach is to read the cadence, commit to it, and resist the urge to add frantic extra inputs.
Boss waves are a test of composure. Arrive with a healthy star rating and enough financial breathing room so one imperfect encounter does not end an otherwise strong run.
